Idols and Piercings

I don’t know if anyone else noticed but piercings are very common on male K-Pop artists. I think it is probably more uncommon not to have your ears pierced then it is to have them pierced. I tend to notice piercings on an idol but maybe that’s because I have a few myself and piercings intrigue me. Out of all of the piercings I have seen on idols I am the most jealous of SeungRi’s industrial. I am green with envy. I have always wanted one but I don’t have the right type of ear for one.

I think the first idols piercings I noticed was Key from Shinee. I first noticed his conch piercing while watching in of their music videos. Then a few days ago I noticed that he had a rook and I think a forward helix. I love ear piercings and maybe that’s why I notice them. I also noticed in Nu’est’ video Hello it looked like BaekHo also had a conch piercing but I am not 100% sure. I know both Key and BaekHo have their lobes and their cartilage pierced but I like the more uncommon piercings.

I also have notices a few other idols that have some interesting piercings. When I first saw Tao from EXO, I noticed that he had a snug. I’ve actually looked into snug piercings and from what I have read about them they are hard to heal. Then there is Eli from U-Kiss who has a few. We all have seen his eyebrow piercing. It is very noticeable. It is rumored that Eli has fourteen piercings. His other piercings would be his tragus, I am not 100% sure if he has a conch piercing. I thought I saw one but I can’t say for sure. I also am not too sure if he has the webbing of his hand pierced. In Crayon, G-Dragon had his conch pierced plus his other ear piercings. There are female idols who have uncommon piercings but I am unfamiliar with them.

Then there are idols that go above and beyond just a few piercings. From what I could find SungYeol from Infinite and JaeJoong from JYJ have or had a few. So I looked into their piercing history. SungYeol has piercings up his whole ear, one after another. I’ve seen pictures where he has a conch and possibly a snug but I am not 100% sure if they are real. Then there is JaeJoong. I’ve seen pictured of his multiple piercings. He had his multiple ear piercings, nipples and bellybutton piercing. These would be the first non-facial piercings I have seen in my short experience with K-Pop. I’m sure the women of K-Pop have their bellybutton pierced. Well more power to him for all of his interesting piercings.

On the other side of the spectrum are the idols that do not have their ears pierced. Since having their ear pierced was so common it took me a long time before I noticed that there were a few who did not have theirs ears pierced. I think neither YoSeob nor DongWoon of Beast have their ears pierced.  MinHo and Onew of Shinee also do not have their ears pierced. 2PM’s NickHun and WooYoung have no piercings. It is harder to name those without piercings then it is to name those with piercings. But getting your ears pierced is an easy thing to do. It’s a one two three.

Sometimes it’s hard to tell which piercings are real or fake. I’ve noticed in music videos that idols wear fake earrings and it makes it hard to tell. That’s why I am not 100% sure about some of the piercings. Also they wear fake plugs. The piercings that I am not sure on I did look up and tried to see if they were real or fake. But I couldn’t conform whether or not they were real.

As I stated above I do have a few ear piercings. After seeing all of the different piercings in K-Pop and my desire for an industrial, it led me to get two new piercings. I didn’t get them just because the idols have them. I got them because I wanted them and I would have got some type of ear piercing with or without K-Pop. Piercings are interesting and very addicting. When idols you like and adore have them, it makes you want to go get them. I had all of my piercings done by a professional. I did not do them myself and I recommend going to a professional.
