I don’t usually have anything to do with
female K-Pop groups since I don’t listen to them but this piece of news just
intrigued me. AOA came out with their new single “Miniskirt” a few days ago. The
music video was receiving negative comments because of their sexy concept. I
guess negative comments are still comments.
I actually watched this video and didn’t
see any problem with it. There are three different concepts that are used for
female artists: cute, sexy and tomboy. I feel like when a group tries a
different concept people don’t like. Its like people have a problem with them
being women and being sexy. The women of AOA are women. It doesn’t matter that the
youngest member is only 17, they have every right to do what they want.
I read the comments made on YouTube and I
think a lot of it comes from women. That they think the video was too over
sexualized. You want a very sexual video go watch Gary’s “Shower Later”. Someone
even posted that the sexy
look doesn't fit them. I’m not too sure what concept they previously used but
people need to get over themselves. I don’t like girl groups but this song was
really good. More power to the groups who choose to go with a sexy concept
since it makes a statement.
