Over used sexy concept?

Had to get this of my chest. You remember my last AOA post about them apparently being too sexy? Yes well they actually changed their choreography for “Miniskirt” for their appearances on the different music stages. Even though they already appeared on a few music stages with their “too” sexy dance. By taking the advice provided by fans they will calm down their dance. The first performance of their new choreography will be presented on Music Bank. Question for you guys. Do you think there are too many female groups out there using the sexy concept?
Sechskies member Eun Ji Won provided his opinion on that subject. In a nutshell he said if every girl group used the sexy concept K-Pop will become too sexual and that girl groups also need to use the cute concept. Super Juniors Heechul also had something to say about the sexy concept. He pretty much said that the cute concepts have been reserved for the children who are on “Dad! Where Are We Going?” and he compared being an entertainer to being a purchasable product. The product has to appeal to the buyer for it to be bought.

Now back to AOA “Miniskirt”. Since the song came out it has received over one million views. The song is catchy and has potential to get stuck in your head. But everyone is finding it upsetting because of all their booty shaking. I was more offended by Gary’s “Shower Later” then this song. They also contrasted their sexiness with some innocents thrown in. the members of AOA are women who I would say are comfortable with their bodies. I don’t think that this video is over-sexualized. It just is what it is. They are not shy about embracing their sexuality. I didn’t think their skirts were too short or embarrassing to watch them unzip there skirts either. I think this was a clean sexy. People need to get off their high horse and just deal with it.
The truth is sex sales. I see more people complaining about how this female group is too sexy but they don’t complain about the male groups being too sexy. A man can show off their abs and its okay, but if a female is wearing skirt that people deem too short it’s inappropriate. I think Korea is a little more conservative then America but are they going to force grown, mature women to use a cute concept. Every group should fine a concept that fits them. They shouldn’t be forced to use either cute, sexy or a tomboy concept. Let women be women. For your music to sale you do need to appeal to the audience. So you need to adapt to what is popular. Cute concepts need to be used for those who are younger or just has that certain look. But grown women and men should be able to be comfortable and sexy. Let them be themselves and not force them into a box that fits our own beliefs. I come from a religious background but I don’t have a cow over what they wear. I may not be a fan of AOA’s but we should support them no matter their concept. Every year there will be a concept that is more popular.

Are K-Pop fans like Zombies?

I can be slightly random and come up with some interesting things. I will admit it I am a weird person. But I’m more if a “normal” weird person and not a “creepy” weird person. Anyways I made a comparison that K-Pop fans are like zombies.
I don’t know how the first zombie becomes infected but once someone is bitten they are infected. With K-Pop from the first few songs you hear you are infected. There is no turning back. After I heard my first song I was addicted. Also Zombies go out and search for fresh meat. K-Pop fans go out and search for people to turn to the K-Pop side. Soon enough friends are infected. I make my family and friends listen to it. I have yet to bring anyone to my side but they like it.
You know that saying “Just one more music video”? We all know that is a false statement. It goes from one video to two, two to three and the next thing you know its been four hours. By the time you are done you look like the living dead. I always say just one more video. Never happens that way. Next thing I know it’s four o’clock and I need to get up in a few hours. Last point. Zombies have no form of communication. They just moan and groan. K-Pop fans sometimes in an extreme state of fan-girling have limited communication skills. Their limited communication consists of funny noises and incomplete phrases. I’ve never been in this type of extreme fan-girling. I talk during my stages of fan-girling.
So in closing K-Pop fans must be a type of zombie. With every new person who gets infected with K-Pop, we spread the wonderful world of K-Pop. You do have a few people are immune to it but we all know that in the inside they are moving with the beat. Now lets all go out and infect the rest of the world with K-Pop so it can rule the world!

"1004" by B.A.P video teaser

So if you are unaware of things B.A.P yesterday they released their teaser video for their new single "1004". The music video will be released on February 3rd. So just 11 more days until we can finally see this new image of B.A.P.

THe World of Korean Varity Shows

As I said in a previous post K-Dramas introduced me to the world of Korean Variety shows. I don’t know what it is about Korean Varity shows but I can’t help but watch them. There are a few that I watch more then others. Before I found dramafever.com I used to watch Running Man on TV without subtitles every Saturday night. You don’t need subtitles to understand what is going on. But having the words makes it more enjoyable.
A lot of the Varity shows I watch on YouTube since I do not have access to the channels. I can pay to have access to a few more Korean related channels. Without YouTube I could not fully enjoy some of the shows I’m currently hooked too. All hale to the founders of YouTube and all those who use it. There are four shows that I watch religiously and then there are some shows I might watch every once in a while.
On Monday I watch Running Man. It is one of my favorite Korean Variety shows. All of the members bring something different to the show. But my favorite member would be Kwang-Soo. He is just so funny and lovable. But all of the members are pretty awesome. On Tuesday I watch Cool Kiz on the Block. I started to watch this show while they were playing badminton. Ho Dong is so retarded and funny. It wouldn’t be the same without him on the show. I liked basketball better then badminton. But it is interesting to watch the actors and singers play sports were they either have little or no experience. But there are a few people who have a lot of experience in the chosen sport. But it hasn’t been on for the last twp weeks but they posted a new episode early this morning.
On Friday I watch Music Bank. I usually just skip all of the groups I don’t like and only listen to the groups I like. Since I don’t listen to any female artists so there goes half of the show to begin with. I also skip over groups I either haven’t heard of or I don’t like. The groups I’ve never heard of I usually look up their music video and watch it later. On Saturday I watch Let’s Go Dream Team. I like how they have a variety of people on the show. It’s not just one type of people. It’s a mix of actors, singers, models and everything in between. I also like that they have normal, everyday people to go head to head with. The MCs are so good together. They compliment each other.
Sometimes I watch Weekly Idol depending on who is the guest. I like to watch my favorite idols on there. It’s funny when the MCs make them do stupid and embarrassing things. I loved Block Bs guest appearance. I laughed so hard throughout the whole show. It is just a great “simple” show and it is different from the other shows that are similar to it. I’m not to sure what day the new episodes are posted on YouTube. I usually just look it up on Wikipedia to see who the guests are before I go looking for it on YouTube. I also just started to watch 2 Days and 1 Night season 3. Only two episodes have been posted but I’m now two episodes behind. But I can catch us easy.
If you never watched a Korean variety show you should go check them out. They are so much fun and America has nothing like them. Even my mother agrees about them. I can sometimes get her to watch running man with me. I think on Tuesday we watched the episodes 84 and 85 with Big Bang. It was awesome!!!

12 days until B.A.P's comeback

The sexy men of B.A.P released two teaser photos. One was a group shot and the other was of Matoki. These teaser images are related to their up and coming first full album “First Sensibility” with their title track being “1004”. My mom always says men look better in suits and let me tell you B.A.P looks pretty hot in their black suits. More of a sophisticated look rather then their “solider” mentality they previously used. Even Matoki has a more sophisticated look. He even has a mustache. What’s more sophisticated then a mustache? With all of the metal inlay it does have a steampunk feel to it. But he looks pretty cool. Is anyone else getting excited for the release of both the single and the album?

Via twitter Zelo posted a picture of Himchan while he was filming for their “1004” music video. It gives us a sneak preview of the music video. If pictures say a thousand words this one has word like intense and emotional impact. Apparently “1004” will show a softer side to their usual fierce attitude. Its just another image to whet our appetite and place us on the edge of our seats until the video comes out on February 3rd

On March 8th and 9th B.A.P will be holding a solo concert with performances for their new album “First Sensibility”. Those who get to go will be lucky. You want to hear something sad. I started listening to K-Pop at the end of May of last year and B.A.P had their “Live On Earth” U.S Tour in the beginning of May. Why couldn’t I have discovered K-Pop earlier? From what I gave seen and heard B.A.P puts on a good performance. I think I’m slightly bitter over this. I hope they come back to America soon.

I think from the start B.A.P has been very successful. They have put out great songs and great music videos. So I am sure that their new album, which comes out on February 3rd, will also be a big hit. Just 12 more days until their comeback.

The Hateful and the Creepy

This is about the wonderful world of the hateful and creepy. From what I understood EXO has a lot of anti-fans and sasaengs. I know some people prefer certain groups but isn’t being an anti-fan going a little to far. Apparently some EXO anti-fans have banded together and started to slander the guys of EXO and their fans. Do people not realize that there are boundaries between an opinion and harassment?
The EXO anti-fans have gone as far as editing the faces of EXO onto pictures of the decreased. Personal attacks and defamation were also seen all over the website. When the EXO fans were petitioning the government to excuse the members from their mandatory military service there were pictures of EXO fans practicing self-harm. It came out on the website that an anti-fan actually faked those photos. These fans are so hateful for no apparent reason. Should SM Entertainment seek legal action against them? In my opinion yes, they have crossed the line between dislike and all out hate.
Does anyone watch “Cool Kiz on the Block”? In the beginning of the basketball portion Seok Joo Il, a former basketball player, received some anti-fans when he hit Max Changmin and John Park. Basketball is a contact sport and you will get hit whether it is on accident or purpose. Yes, he did it on purpose but its not like he maimed or sent them to the hospital. But unlike EXO, Seok Joo Il was able to get the anti-fans on his side when he praised EXO’s Kris after they played the charity basketball game. I guess I don’t understand why so many people would hate him.
On the other side of the spectrum you have the sasaeng fans. On the 20th a sasaeng fan attempted to sell underwear that they said belonged to EXO’s D.O. Can you say creepy? The person selling them admitted to getting it from their dorm and that she was going to try to get Sehun’s underwear next. There must be something off in someone’s brain to go as far as breaking onto someone’s house and stealing their underwear. They belong in a psych ward not on the streets. But there were “normal” fans that stood up for the preservation of the privacy of EXO. Even if this story is fake it is creepy as hell and these sasaeng fans need to get a life.

Hello Kitty Cafe

Somewhere in Seoul, South Korean there is a Hello Kitty Café.  Just imagine a café decorated from top to bottom in Hello Kitty. Even the food and drinks have some type of Hello Kitty included on it. I’m not a huge fan of Hello Kitty but she is all right. Pink isn't my favorite color but I think I could stand it for this interesting experience. It sounds pretty awesome.

Negative Comments are still Comments

I don’t usually have anything to do with female K-Pop groups since I don’t listen to them but this piece of news just intrigued me. AOA came out with their new single “Miniskirt” a few days ago. The music video was receiving negative comments because of their sexy concept. I guess negative comments are still comments.
I actually watched this video and didn’t see any problem with it. There are three different concepts that are used for female artists: cute, sexy and tomboy. I feel like when a group tries a different concept people don’t like. Its like people have a problem with them being women and being sexy. The women of AOA are women. It doesn’t matter that the youngest member is only 17, they have every right to do what they want.
I read the comments made on YouTube and I think a lot of it comes from women. That they think the video was too over sexualized. You want a very sexual video go watch Gary’s “Shower Later”. Someone even posted that the sexy look doesn't fit them. I’m not too sure what concept they previously used but people need to get over themselves. I don’t like girl groups but this song was really good. More power to the groups who choose to go with a sexy concept since it makes a statement.

Thriller by BtoB album review

This is one of the last few albums that I received for Christmas. “Thriller” by BtoB is their third extended play album. The mini album was released in September of 2013 with the title song being Thriller. The name does remind me of Michael Jacksons Thriller. I think “WOW” was the first music video I watched and I loved it. I actually watched their MTV Diary and B+ Diary. it is sad to say but I wouldn’t have ever bought this album since it was a mini album and I kind of think they are a waste of money.
I’m not too sure how well know they are. The world of K-Pop is so competitive that groups can be lost between other debuts and comebacks. They debuted sometime on 2012. Their music video “WOW” that was released September 11, 2012 has almost ten million views. They are in the same record label as Beast, so it could be easy to get lost in their shadow and no that wasn’t a pun. I hope in the future they get more recognition for their talents.
The cover had a mechanical heart on it. Well since I have degree in nursing I find the cover very interesting. The album came up with a little postcard. I got Hyunsik’s card. I have to say he has a cute smile. The booklet had the same concept as the “Thriller” music video. It was a little dark but not a creepy Goth type dark. The Album also came with a poster.
The album contains six songs and all of the songs are really good. “Thriller” is what attracted me to the album but I enjoy every song. Other then “Thriller” I really liked “When I Was Your Man” and “Like a Crystal”. It’s a short album so it’s not like there are a lot of songs to pick from and I would have to say that all songs have to be good. I don’t have many mini albums and I just don’t think they are worth the money.
Would I recommend this album? I would recommend it. It was a good album filled with good songs. I know the review is short but it’s a mini album. There isn’t much to say about six songs.
Track list
1. When I Was Your Man (내가 남자였을 )
2. Thriller (스릴러)
3. Why ( 이래)
4. Catch Me
5. Like a Crystal (크리스탈같이)
6. Star ()

Go Broke or Go Home!

Here is some awesome news in the world of K-Pop. YG Entertainment has announced an “YG Family 2014 World Tour”! Can you say freaking awesome. So that means artists that would be involved would be: Big Bang, 2NE1, Psy, Epik High, Lee Hi, & WINNER. Who else is excited for this concert?
The tour will be kicking off in Japan on April 12-13 at the Osaka Kyocera Dome and May 3-4 at Tokyo Dome in Japan. After that they will be moving to other parts of the world. That was all the information that has been released. But more information will be released in the future, so stay tuned.
I am a huge Big Bang fan and the other artists I am neutral with. I neither like them nor dislike them. But I am sure these tickets will cost a pretty penny. The U-Kiss concert I went to the other day the most expensive ticket were 180 dollars. Now imagine these high profile groups coming together for one concert. Go broke or go home. I’m sure these tickets will cost more then what I’m willing to pay but I really want to go. Even my mom would go with me willingly.

Rookie Group Receives 1 Million Views

Within just a few days of their release GOT7 receives over 1 million views. On January 15th GOT7 released their single “Girls Girls Girls”. With every picture and video it only whetted out appetite for more. GOT7 is JYPs first male group since 2pm.

Two of the members, JB and Jr, were part of another group under JYP Entertainment. It makes me wonder if this was planned out from the beginning or just an “after thought”. I know GOT7 has been deemed “the next 2pm”. I like 2pm but I am not very familiar with then so I cannot compare the two groups. But I’m sure you can find other bloggers who have.

GOT7 is the third rookie group to debut this year and they so far and are most successful of the three. K-Much has around 180,00 views and Beat Win has around 120,000 views. I’m not saying that K-Much and Beat Win are not talented groups. But JYP must have debuting rookies down to a science since this group has received recognition all over the world.

Promotion and advertisement are a good way to get rookie groups out in the public. Teaser videos are an excellent way to introduce each member and showcase their talent. You can have a talented group but if they are not showcased in the right way they will be as successful as they could have been.

GOT7 mixes a genre of martial arts tricking that combines kicking and turning movements of martial arts skills along with b-boying. Sounds like an interesting mix. They will be dropping their first mini album on the 20th and will continue with their promotion activities. This is a group that I cannot wait to see what they put out next.

"Shower Later" By Gary is Banned

So if you have seen Gary’s new music video “Shower Later” you would know how sexually explicit it is. “Shower Later” and “Zotto Molla” have been deemed inappropriate for television. If this video was released here in America it would be seen everywhere. I know that they video is a little over the top with the sexual innuendos. From what I understand the lyrics have a totally different meaning then music video itself.
According to Gary’s Agency the lyrics portray the feelings of a man towards a single women. Even if the lyrics “meaningful” and “innocent” it does not excuse the sexual content of the video. American Hip-Hop is filled with sexual content and innuendos but I've never seen this much sexula content with my little experience with Korean music. I guess I might not be looking very hard for it. But Gary is a grown man and can do what he wants.  Gary had to know what a music video like “Shower Later” would be banned. If VIXX’s “Voodoo Doll” got banned for its violence that the dance conveys then “Shower Later” would also be banned for its explicit sexual content.
I am unfamiliar with South Koreas censorship criteria so I cannot point out the reasons why it was banned. As long as artists rely on radio and television studios play their music they can pick and choose what they play. If they believe it will be hurtful to they psyche of the younger generation they will not play it.
Gary has no plans of editing his work so it can be played on the radio or on television. The video has been banned due to its highly sexual content and suggestive lyrics.  Sometime I wish America had some type of censorship policy because I am tired of some of the crap I’ve seen in some music videos. But to separate himself from LeeSSang he has gone with a different concept.
Everyone is different and reactions to this video most likely very. If I listened just to the song I would have liked it. I have not gone and looked up the lyrics for “Shower Later” but I guess ignorance is bliss. I found it hard to listen to the lyrics while watching all of the explicit sexual acts going on. But Gary is a grown man and he will choose what he wants. If he chooses not to change and edit his music video then that is up to him. I wish him all the luck with his album Mr. Gae.

K-Drama Dry Spell

Before I found K-Pop I discover K-Dramas. I watched my first drama back in 2006. It was called Infamous Chill Sisters or Famous Princesses. I actually didn’t watch this drama from the beginning. I came into it somewhere in the middle and I fell in love with it right away. There was just something about the drama that had me hooked from the beginning. When “Infamous Chill Sisters” ended I started to watch the next drama that came on. I think it was called “Blissful Women” but I didn’t get a chance to finish it.
I went to college in September of 2007 and forgot about K-Dramas. Due to unexpected circumstances it took me a few extra years to graduate college rather then the regular four. But my senior year I had a suitemate who was Korean but lived in Japan. Having Sunny in my suite just made my year. Because of her I fell a little bit more in love with all things Korean. She had these cute pig magnets that also could be used as tacks. I would have stolen then from her if I could have gotten away with it. I went to a religious school that didn’t allow any movies and all music had to be approved. Very strict school but I received a great education.
So when I came home for Christmas I found K-Dramas on Netflix.com. The first drama I watched after my dry spell was Boys Over Flowers. I loved it and because of Kim Hyun Joong I came across Playful Kiss. I loved both of them and even made my mom watch them. She enjoyed them and together we watched Secret Garden, City Hunter and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. Netflix has a limited selection of dramas and a few of them did not have subtitles. But I know they have added a few more to their list recently.
Growing up I never watched all of the popular TV shows like One Tree Hill, Dawson's Creek or anything like that. The only series I watch was Veronica Mars. I actually own all three seasons and I am waiting for the movie to come out. But all American TV shows are filled with sex, backstabbing and lies. I know some K-Dramas contain the same thing but not like the American dramas do. Well that is my opinion at least. But where American dramas are dirty, Korean dramas are clean. I’m sure there are K-Dramas that are dirty, but I’m sure there are American dramas that are clean. But there was something about K-Dramas that drew me into their world. Very few dramas go beyond one season but it keeps you wanting more.
I came across dramafever.com while I was looking for Infamous Chill Sisters. Just an FYI Infamous Chill Sisters is nowhere to be found on the Internet. Which is sad for me since I can’t watch it from the beginning. But dramafever opened up a whole new world full of dramas. Then I found viki.com and that had some dramas that dramafever.com didn’t have. I can name a few dramas I have watched from the two websites: You’re Beautiful, Good Doctor and Vampire Prosecutor. I’ve watched a few more dramas but I can’t think of anymore. I have around forty dramas on my to watch list. But currently I am watching Rooftop Prince and Vampire Prosecutor 2.
The world of K-Dramas also introduced me to the world of Korean variety shows. But this is a different topic.

B.A.P new up and coming album

So this piece of news is a few days old but apparently Yongguk, leader of B.A.P, released an unofficial track listing for their new upcoming album. Well the new news is that the track listing is now official and conformed. This will be their first full album filled with thirteen songs. Here is the official track list.
1. B.A.P
2. 1004 (pronounced as chunsa, which means angel)
3. Easy
4. SPY
5. Clock On
6. Shady Lady
7. Lovesick
8. Bang X2
9. SNS
10. Body & Soul
11. Save Me
12. B.A.B.Y
13. With You

Their new album will be titled “First Sensibility” and is said to be released on February 3rd. Apparently at a fan meeting the lovely men of B.A.P performed one of their songs from their upcoming album. So some fans might be familiar with the song “B.A.B.Y” before it even is released. Their title track for “First Sensibility” had been chosen and the winner is “1004”. Which stated above means angel. The men of B.A.P are transforming themselves from solders to sexy men.
Well who else is excited? I’m sure BABYs are excited for this comeback. I sure am. I’m glad they this album is a full album and not a mini album. My opinion is mini albums are slightly a waste of money. But to each there own. Lets start counting down the days until we get a comeback!

Music Video Review: GOT7, Gary, A-Prince, Royal Pirates and Topp Dogg

Well here are the music videos reviews for what the six music videos that came out yesterday and today.

“Girls Girls Girls” by GOT7
Well “Girls Girls Girls” is GOT7’s debut single. We have seen pictures and the teaser videos. Lets hope the music video shown holds up to those standards. The beginning was slightly pointless. It wasn’t even a little story before the song actually begins. When the guys were getting on their skateboards the music reminds me of LMFAO’s “Party Rock”. The stage itself looked like they had higher budget then the other two groups that just debuted. But once they started to dance they were in the box. But with the people around the dance floor it gave it a different feel from the rest. The music and song had a laid back feeling. The lyrics and dancing weren’t rushed. But form one of the teasers I was hoping for more dancing. But the dancing was good. The music had a good beat. I thought the rapping was perfect. It didn’t feel rushed or out of place. I felt like it was in the perfect spot inside the song. I really liked the song and actually added it to my playlist. I can’t wait to see more of their stuff.

“Shower Later” by Gary
This is one of two music videos Gary released. So lets see what he has come up with for this music video. He was driving a nice car. I love old cars. I think they are pretty sexy. Gary had a nice voice. Very smooth sounding. I didn’t enjoy the music video but it was different. But I think a lot of people need to realize that Gary is a grown man and not a little boy. You don’t need to like the music video to enjoy the song. I enjoyed the song. Yes it was a very sexually music video but this is Hip-Hop not Pop. Some people need to get over themselves. I really don’t know what else to say about this video.

“ZOTTO MOLA” by Gary
This is the second music video released by Gary yesterday. So lets see what this video is about. The music video was very simple. The water tube concept was interesting but it was kind of boring. I was hoping it would get better but it didn’t. Some of the faces he was making while he was singing and rapping were kind of amusing. But I think the faces were die form the fact that he was serious. From what I gathered I guess ZOTTO is f*ck in Korean. I think that is what I read somewhere. This video was like the polar opposite of “Shower Later”. I liked the music and the song was okay. I liked his other song better.

“Yes or No” by A-Prince
I still haven’t watched “Mambo” yet. So this will be my first music video by them. High hopes for a new group to add to my list of artists I like. I had high hopes for this video after watching the teaser video. The music in the beginning makes you want to dance. I was sitting on my couch bobbing my head to the beat. But the video looked more like a practice video rather then an official music video. Very cheap looking, so I guess they had a low budget for making this video. It was bad all around. The softness of the lyrics didn’t match the masculine concepts. I couldn’t hear the lyrics very well and the dancing looked stiff. This was a crappy comeback video. I hope anything they do in the future is of a better quality.

“Drawing the Line” by Royal Pirates
I’ve heard of these guys through Eat Your Kimchi with Simon and Martina. But I’ve never actually listened to them. So this is my first experience with this group. This group is similar to CLBLUE and F.T. Island. The music was very funny and the song was very catchy. The video had like a party like atmosphere. It was just a very fun music video to watch. Moon has a very nice voice. I loved the music and the song. I think with more protmotion and advertisemnet they could be more wellknown. Over all I loved this music song.

“Open the Door” by Topp Dogg
I liked “Follow Me” and thought “Cigarette” was okay. But this is their new single and lets check it out. I still think of the Knights of the Round Table when they guys are at the table. Since I am not familiar with everyone the guy who had the white blonde hair looked like an albino person. I didn’t like the hair that was longish and red. It is very girly looking. It was different from “Follow Me” video. The video contains different elements that were interesting: The consolation of stars and the dog in the thrown. I liked the different setting that the music video was in. it was very visually creative. I liked their fashion. It was very clean looking. I would have liked to see more dancing. I liked the ending with the two guys doing their thing and with the camera twisting along with them was pretty awesome. I think if I listened to the song a few more times I think I would love it.

What a Busy Day! Shopping, K-Town and U-Kiss Concert!!!

You cannot come to LA and not go shopping in downtown LA at the fashion district. It can be crazy and you have to pay for parking. But it is worth it. Parking will cost you a couple of dollars. There are a lot of shops full of clothes. But since I'm not a skinny person I don't shop there. They have a lot of shoe places. Some of the ones I saw today were so awesome. They were bright colored, had spikes and had like six-inch heels. I love heals but I'm tall enough without them. On bare feet I'm about 5'10". So I am not a small person in any way. They have a lot of jewelry and purse shops. There are a few small places that have 99-cent jewelry and that is what I buy. I usually go for quantity over quality. I bought three pairs of earrings, a clutch and a necklace. I'd rather have more cheap jewelry rather then a few expensive pieces. The Santee alley is where I do most of my shopping. You can walk around and see what else is around. The purse I was a little hesitant over. But the jewels and designs on the handle made me buy it. It cost me 10 dollars. It was just so cute.
K-town is around 15 minutes from the fashion district of LA. We didn't do much exploring because we were hungry and didn’t know about traffic back to the concert venue. But we did go to the Koreatown Plaza where the Music Plaza is located. When I walked into the store I heard angels song. I was so excited that I could touch these K-Pop albums I've only seen on the Internet. My poor mother looked around but I know she would have rather been at home. I hade some cash and a few bucks in my bank account so I looked to buy a new album.  I looked at albums by FTIsland, Yong JunHyung, Beast, U-Kiss and many more. But I finally decided on "2 Cool 4 Skool" by BTS. I loved their second album so I bought their first one. So I now have another album to review in the future. Then my mom had to listen to the album with me in the car on the way to the venue. Some pictures will be posted somewhere on here.
My mother refused all offers for me to educate her on U-Kiss. We arrived at the venue around 5pm and got in line around 5:30. My mom was afraid that she would be the only "old" person at the concert. There were a few "old" people waiting to see U-Kiss. The doors didn't open until 7:00 and the show started around 7:45. I was way more excited then my mother. I mean this was my first concert. Like I’ve never been to any type of concert before tonight. Well I guess I kind of lied. I’ve been to a really small concert in a basement of a bar and then I went on a Celtic Thunder cruise and they had concerts. Well I will call this my first real concert. Standing in one place for long periods kills my back. So my back was shot ever before the concert began. Random rabbit trial! I have this really big, flavored lip balm that looks like a big glue stick. But when I was going through security the guy was like “You have a blow Pop?” they guy was surprised and I think slightly amused by it. When I told him it was a lip balm and that he could open it, he did. He thought my lip balm was funny and probably awesome. Now back to the topic. The venue wasn’t very big so all seats were pretty good. I was in the balcony way in the back. There was only one row behind me. But since we were in the middle section it was a good seat. We were not allowed to take any pictures or video of the concert. I did it anyway and got in trouble. I’m a rebel at heart.
The video I took was pretty crappy. The quality is crappy, the video is shaky, blurry and you can’t really see they guys very well since I was trying no to get caught. The concert did a super fan contest for each city. The super fan for LA was a forty-year-old woman. She did have a great super fan story and when it gets posted in YouTube I will post it for you to see it. But it goes to show you that K-Pop is not just for the young.  But everyone pretty much stood for the whole concert, which made my back hurt even more. But it was worth it. Kiseop’s birthday is on the 17th and from what I understood the American KissMe’s got him a cupcake cake. It was really cute. It was of a bear face. What was so funny was Kiseop took a bite out of one of the cupcakes and Hoon “kissed” him to remove the frosting. I’ve seen some K-Pop idols “kiss” but when Hoon turned around he had frosting on his lips and Kiseop had a shocked look his face. It was funny. My mom told me after the concert that no straight, white, 22 year olds men would every do anything like that. I guess you would understand better if you were there. I just say its because they are Korean and move on. Asians’ get away with lots of things because they are Asian. After the show I was going to buy their Album but they didn’t have any left and I didn’t want any of their other merchandise. I wouldn’t wear a hoodie or shirt, so why buy them. I don’t hang posters on my wall, plus I didn’t think they were that cool anyways. Also what would I do with a glow stick? Nothing, it would sit in my room somewhere and collect dust. If later on I want merchandise I could always buy it from eBay or something. Another random thought! I did notice that Eli wasn’t wearing is eyebrow piercing. But I have to say their song “0330” displays the Korean language in a beautiful way. It makes it sound so beautiful.
My father just laughs at the guys and he thinks they are feminine. U-Kiss is not a feminine group. I thing Kevin is their most feminine member but I’m sorry you can’t look at Hoon’s biceps and think he is feminine. So I made my mom tell my dad that they are not as feminine as he thinks they are. Even a few members “showed” their abs. The concert was awesome. Their first song was “Stop Girl” and their last song was “Neverland”. The concert ended around 9:30. After this concert U-Kiss is equal with Big Bang as my favorite group. My mom did enjoy the concert and thought they were funny during their Q&A session. My mom’s favorite member is Kevin. I can’t decide who my favorite member is. It’s between Hoon, Kiseop and Soohyun. But all of them are awesome I was sad when it ended and I hope they come again soon.

Another Release Planned for the 15th.

So I just watched this teaser video that was released earlier today. I’ve never heard of A-Prince and I saw this teaser video from all the k-pop’s twitter. It’s been a little more over a year since their debut so I don’t know why I haven’t heard of them. So this is my first experience with them. I watched a few seconds of their music video “Mambo” earlier today but I haven’t watched the whole thing yet. But from what I’ve seen they are going with a more masculine concept for this video. Their new music video “Yes or No” is set to release on January 15th.
I guess January 15th is a very popular day for comeback and debuts. GOT7 is scheduled to debut on the 15th. Gary’s gone solo and his new song is scheduled to debut on the 15th. Now A-Prince plans on a comeback on the same day. So it looks like we have a debut, solo debut and a comeback!. What a lucky day the 15th will be.

Topp Dogg Release New Teaser

Topp Dogg also released a teaser for their new song “들어와 (Open the door)” yesterday. I liked their song “Follow Me” and “Cigarette” was just okay. The teaser video concept reminds me of “Follow Me”.  I guess we will have to wait and see if the two videos will be different or similar. The teaser video does contain different elements that were not in there other music video. Them sitting at the table reminded me of the Knights of the Round Table. The song sounds interesting and their dancing looks good. Sometimes it’s hard to judge a music video by its teaser. Not to sure when the song and video is to be released and if there will be more teaser videos released. But there have been quit a few comebacks and debuts the first two weeks of the New Year. Hopefully the comeback and debuts will be good and consistent.

2 Artists and 3 Teasers

GOT7 released their second teaser video yesterday. With every new teaser they release the more excited I become. They seem like a very interesting group so hopefully they do not disappoint with their first song. They are releasing their music video “Girls Girls Girls” on Wednesday the 15th. From the teaser videos they seem to have a good future a head of them. They all seem very talented dances and we will soon to find out of their singing ability matches their dancing ability. I have to say their electric or gas powered skateboards are pretty cool. Just a few more days and the mystery will be solved.

LeeSSang’s Gary also released another teaser video. He released on yesterday and another one today. This is teaser number four and the new video comes out in just a few short days. It will be released on Wednesday the 15th. There have been two teasers that have been released for two separate songs: ZOTTO MOLA (XX몰라) and Shower Later (조금 이따 샤워해). So I guess there are two music videos getting released? I liked the teaser from yesterdays for ZOTTO MOLA (XX몰라) and I’d have to see the music video for Shower Later (조금 이따 샤워해) to see if I like it or not. There seems to be a hype and anticipation for the v video to be released. Lets home the music videos are as awesome as their teasers.

"Lonely" by B1A4

So today B1A4 released their new single “Lonely”. I’m not very familiar with this group but I do like their song “Baby, I’m Sorry”. I haven’t decided on whether or not I “like” them. I think that more and more K-Pop music videos are becoming more dimensional. The music videos are not stuck in just one room, but bring on different settings and concepts. So lets take a quick look at the video

I liked the nice little beat from the beginning. It was a very simple and clean video. I liked the song. It was very smooth sounding. The video I thought was more on the serious side but it matched the song. The song it self was very sweet sounding. Baro had a nice voice at 2:02, very sexy sounding. I thought the floating girl was kind of cool. The dancing was also very smooth and clean. Personally I thought the cold and snow concept matched the feeling of the song. the concept of the video and the dancing matched the song very well. As a whole it was a really good song and video. It was done very well and it all meshed together. It is a good way to start out the new year. I now have a new song/music video added to my K-Pop playlist. So lets continue on a good note with comebacks and debut.
